David Venter: It's Personal

David Venter has devoted his life to supporting his son, Joshua, who was diagnosed with autism and significant delays. Navigating the public school system, he fought to secure Joshua’s Individualized Education Program (IEP) and therapy. However, all services ended after high school, leaving the family without support—especially challenging during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Determined to help Joshua achieve independence, David worked tirelessly to access support services and opportunities. While collaborating with local organizations and agencies, he discovered they were not equipped to assist high-functioning individuals with disabilities in finding meaningful employment. This gap inspired him to found BeeMe Connections, a program designed to help young adults like Joshua—including those who are high-functioning or part of the broader neurodiverse community—find meaningful employment and foster inclusive work environments.

David brings decades of professional experience, including a successful career as a marketing professional and designer, senior management in early education, and 19 years as co-owner of a Boston bakery. His entrepreneurial background and creative expertise uniquely position him to lead BeeMe Connections.

BeeMe Connections empowers individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as mental health challenges, by providing employment opportunities and training. The initiative celebrates neurodiversity and educates employers on fostering inclusive workplaces, promoting empathy, and creating environments where everyone can thrive.

David’s vision is a future where individuals of all abilities are valued, supported, and empowered to succeed, fostering a more compassionate and inclusive society.

  Bee Party will be an inclusive one-stop party store, providing various party favors and accessories. We are committed to creating memorable experiences and celebrating everyone, and we extend this dedication to our diverse team. 

Our inclusive work environment actively embraces young adults on the autism spectrum, individuals navigating mental health challenges, and those with disabilities who may be overlooked or excluded from traditional workforce opportunities. We believe in the strength of diversity and recognize each team member's unique contributions. By offering meaningful work opportunities, job coaching, and on-the-job training, we empower these individuals to thrive alongside their peers, fostering a workplace that values inclusivity, creativity, and the collective spirit of celebration.

Bee Party offers on-site training and employment and serves as a vital component in addressing the broader societal issues of homelessness and the disproportionate tendency of minors and young adults with disabilities to become entangled in the criminal justice system.
